Kimber Model 82 .22LR
These rifles were produced for the U.S. Army between 1987 and 1990. Although these are still in the original manufacturer's packaging and have never been used, many of the stocks, barrels, and receivers may have a light scratches or razor cuts from when the protective bags were opened to conduct serial number inventory in the mid-90's. This is a minor cosmetic deficiency that detracts slightly from the appearance, but does not affect the functioning of the rifle. This single shot .22LR has an overall weight of 10.75 lbs, a length of 43 inches, an adjustable trigger, three butt plate spacers, and a hand stop assembly. Rifle is complete with a Kimber rear aperature sight, a front sight with ten inserts, and the original technical manual. These rifles are shipped as received by the CMP.

R22M44 - These rifles were manufactured for the U.S. Army between 1943 and 1949. The M44 weighs 8 lbs. and is 43 inches in length and comes equipped with a Mossberg micrometer click receiver peep sight. Ammunition is fed through a 7 round detachable magazine (not sold with the rifle). CMP does have a small quantity of these magazines and they may be purchased separately while quantities last. Magazines are available through commercial sources. These rifles are over 55 years old, but show little evidence of use. Trigger guards are made of plastic that has shrunk and has become very brittle. Many of the trigger guards are cracked. Those that are not cracked may crack during shipment or later use. Replacement trigger guards are not available through the CMP, but are available from commercial sources. Red / Green plastic safety indicator buttons may be missing.

These BAD stripped barreled receivers can have virtually any problem imaginable including but not limited to: rust, pitting, bad bores due to bulges or rust, damaged chambers, stripped screw holes, broken off screws and bad headspace.

These are single shot, bolt action, rifles that were returned to Army inventory by ROTC and JROTC units and are in similar condition to the 40X rifles we offered several years ago. These rifles are missing the front and rear sights, handstops, slings, and the intermediate bases for mounting scopes. Otherwise, these rifles are complete and do function. Bases are present for the front and rear sights. The stocks have the typical dings, dents, gouges, and scratches, and may not be the original style with stocks possibly having aftermarket adjustable buttpads. Rifles show normal wear and are in good condition with bores being very good or better.
The Remington Model 40X is a single shot, .22LR bolt action rifle. Overall length is 46.5 inches. Barrel 28 inch – 6 groove. Available in both heavy and standard barrels. The heavy barrel model has a barrel diameter at the muzzle of 7/8” and the sporter model measures ¾’ at the muzzle.
All of these rifles are returns from JROTC and have been in use for decades. Rifles are sold without sights. A limited number of sights are available (while quantities last) on the CMP Estore at the “parts surplus” tab.
