I agree, keep the limit. Ten cans a year per person is enough. If you want more than that, buy commercial M1 ammo thru CMP or on your own. That way, keeps the ammo spread out over enough time that the hoarders are kept at bay and guys can work on their marksmanship skills over time.

You can also reload shot brass.

I noticed today that CMP has started selling the Hornady commercial M1 match ammo on the estore. CMP is selling the stuff for $50 less per case of 200 than Midway USA has a case listed for.

Why not:

A 10 can limit per shooter.

Or.......

xx can limit per household/address (when it's claimed that more than one shooter resides at the same address).

I have to agree, 10 cans per address would be more than sufficient.

The only thing their thinking is "More to hoard, buy up as much and as fast as I can", to run the CMP out of ammo again. It's called protecting ones investment.

That is only if they have the capital to buy up all the rounds made available.

Not to get too sidetracked but De Beers the diamond mining company tired to do the same thing with diamonds but was unable to buy up all new mines in an attempt to keep prices high. Same thing will happen with surplus ammo, in the short run it may work but will ultimately fail in the long run.

I agree with a 10 can limit per person per year, but some households have multiple shooters, so I don't agree with the per address thing. Or, perhaps a tiered pricing approach - one price for the first 10 cans, a different price (consult gunbroker for pricing guidelines for all cans after that.
